Marnie Simpson has branded Love Island's Adam Collard a 'liar' after he claimed he repeatedly rejected offers to appear in MTV's Geordie Shore.

The 26-year-old star refuted Adam's claims that he was approached by bosses of the raucous reality show, but turned them down because he's 'not that type of person'.

Instead, Marnie told her Twitter followers that the hunky personal trainer, 22, was 'rejected' after auditioning numerous times for the show.

'Well that's a lie': Marnie Simpson has branded Love Island's Adam Collard a 'liar' after he claimed he repeatedly rejected offers to appear in MTV's Geordie Shore

Speaking to MailOnline ahead of his stint in the Love Island villa, she said: 'I saw him on a night out and he said: "Do you want to come on Geordie Shore?" I was like “not really, because it’s not me.” I’m not that type of person.

He added: 'Don’t get us wrong, I like going out. But I’m not daft, I’ve got something between my ears at the same time.

'I wouldn’t want the stereotype of “Oh, let’s go, let’s get fked.” Like, it’s not me, do you know what I mean? I wouldn’t want to come across that way as well.'

Who's telling the truth? Marnie refuted Adam's claims that he was approached by bosses of the raucous reality show, but turned them down because he's 'not that type of person'

The reality star also claimed that the real Newcastle is 'more like Love Island than Geordie Shore'.

But Marnie slammed Adam's allegation, writing: 'Well that's a lie. You auditioned for it every series and got rejected.'

Marnie's co-stars Holly Hagan and Chloe Ferry also appeared to support her remark as they later liked the tweet.

'That's not me': Adam claimed he didn't want the 'Geordie Shore stereotype' as the cast are famed for having raucous, boozy nights out, which usually culminate in fiery rows

Ouch! Adam also claimed that the real Newcastle is 'more like Love Island than Geordie Shore'

If the former Celebrity Big Brother star's claim is true, Adam might not want to bid his supposed Geordie Shore dream goodbye just yet, as last year's Love Island contestant Sam Gowland went on to bag a spot on the reality show.

Adam is certainly making for entertaining viewing for Love Island fans, after stealing Kendall Rae-Knight from Niall Aslam.

The fitness enthusiast, who has had many of the girls vying for his attention, even stole a kiss from the former beauty queen as they shared a romantic candlelit dinner.
